What's Dr. JJ taking today: Probiotic
A probiotic is a living bacteria. Probiotics are great for digestion, soothing traveler's diarrhea, and so many things, that it is something that everyone should take as part of their daily routine.

What is raw living?
Raw living is eating foods in their natural state, the way they are grown in nature. You do not cook foods, because they say that when you bring food above 118F all of the enzymes and the nutrients in the food get destroyed. When you eat food in their natural state, they have everything you need to digest them perfectly. This enables your body to properly absorb the nutrients.

What foods are you allowed to eat while on a raw food diet? Can you eat raw meat on a raw food diet?
Robin is raw vegan, but some raw foodists eat raw meat. Robin feels that it is amazing that it is possible for a person can be vibrantly healthy eating just raw plant foods. Robin's was a carnivore and overnight decided to try a raw food diet, after reading about all of the benefits of raw foods. She didn't believe it was possible to be so healthy just eating raw foods, so she decided to try it. She planned to try raw living for two weeks, and never went back.
You can eat fresh or dehydrated fruits, vegetables, raw nuts and seeds, sprouted grains and legumes.
Dr. JJ eats raw fish, and concedes that raw foods are awesome for our bodies. Raw meats are easier to digest (note: you need to make sure your raw meat is from a reliable source, and to take all food handling safety precautions.) Robin added that people who only eat raw plant foods tend to be more passive, and that the raw meat gives people more energy.
Dr. JJ also added that the idea of not cooking meat makes sense. He advises people not to eat charred meat (like BBQ'd meat) because of the hydro carbons created when the food is burned. It is pro-carcinogenic.
Eating some cooked foods isn't bad if you are eating raw foods with it, the raw foods will help with digestion. Lot's of people eat 70% raw foods.

What are the benefits of a raw food diet?
You wake up feeling great.
You feel happy and positive.
You sleep very well.
Your face clears up, bumps, lines and wrinkles fade away. Robin had lines on her forehead that disappeared.
Cellulite melts away and drops off your body.
You get proper digestion.
It's almost anti-aging.
There's also a spiritual connection.

What do you need to make a basic green smoothie?
1 cup of water and a couple of handfuls of organic baby spinach- blend this down to make a pulse at the bottom.
Add 1 organic banana, 1 cup of organic pineapple and 1 cup of organic mango
Blend it all together in a blender until it's smooth!

You can also use other greens like kale and chard.
This smoothie is delicious! You can't taste the spinach or the banana (Jennifer doesn't like bananas).

What tools do you need in your kitchen to go raw?
You need a blender, dehydrator and juicer as your basic tools to go raw.

What advice do you have for someone who wants try to go raw?
Learn to make a green smoothie is a great basic recipe when you go raw, because getting greens into your system is very important.
Learn 5- 10 recipes. You can get them from Robins blog and website RawketScience.

If you get a dehydrator you can make crackers and breads. When you first go raw, you will want nuts and seeds to give you that full feeling. You can buy raw crackers too.
Going raw is the easiest thing in the world. For instance, you can eat a banana anywhere. People think it is difficult to eat raw, when really it is quite simple. It takes your body time to be satiated by something as simple as an orange This is because we are used to feeling heavy and full. It may take a year for people to get used to the lighter feeling and still be satisfied.
